The first hero, Kharazim, the Monk of Ivgorod, was revealed in a character reveal trailer this morning; he plays as a “mobile melee Hero who can specialize in different paths by choosing one of three traits via his talents.” He can choose between Iron Fist to increase bonus attack damage, Transcendence which allows him to self-heal through melee combat, or Insight to restore mana and choose a balance between being offensive and defensive. The second character is the legendary beastmaster Rexxar, and his loyal bear, Misha. Rexxar plays as a ranged Hero that can control Misha; “Misha is integral to Rexxar’s gameplay, harassing enemies, absorbing damage, and stunning enemy characters with a targeted charge ability.” The last hero hails from the Protoss Empire; the leader of the Protoss, Artanis is for players who like to “get up close and personal with their enemies.” Not much is revealed about him, but Blizzard promises that “he’ll be bringing some heavy hitting abilities with him.”

The newest map currently in development will be the Infernal Shrines. “Infernal Shrines is a three-lane Diablo-themed Battleground featuring three shrines that will periodically gather power.” Teams will be rewarded for finishing map-based objectives around the shrines by defeating its guardians, and unleashing a powerful Punisher to fight for your team. The Punishers come in three different flavors- Arcane, Frozen and Mortar. The Punishers will help you push lanes and take down nearby enemy heroes. A more in depth look can be seen in the trailer below.
