If you ever wanted to check out the Borderlands series, but didn’t know where to start, I’ve got some good news for you. Borderlands: The Handsome Collection is free today on the Xbox One.
The game can be downloaded on the Microsoft Store page. Microsoft themselves haven’t announced this, and the game is currently listed under Xbox App category of “Free Play Days” (as discovered by NeoGAF), so if you want the game, you better get on it soon.
So what exactly does the The Handsome Collection have, I hear you ask? Simply put, the game is the definitive edition of the last two Borderlands games, Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, which comes with the DLC for both games. Additionally, if you played either game on the Xbox 360, you can transfer those save files to the Xbox One version, so you won’t have to worry about starting from scratch if you don’t want to.
