Guardians of the Galaxy Anime
Guardians of the Galaxy is shaping up to be the top grossing film of the year. In Japan, the GOTG bug is spreading like wildfire and a new anime series has debuted based on the same lovable characters.
Visually beautiful and action-packed with a quite unique, slightly “wtf?” storyline, Kill la Kill is arguably one of the best animes that are running right now. Following the storyline of angsty young high school girl, Ryuko Matoi, we watch as she tirelessly fights to seek vengeance for the death of her father, whose murderer she believes to be Honnouji Academy student council president, Satsuki Kiryuin. While Ryuko constantly attempts to fight Satsuki, she finds that the highly-regarded school leader is backed by students who sport Goku Uniforms that make them nearly indestructible. Fortunately for Ryuko, though, her father left her half of a scissor blade, which when complete, is one of the most powerful weapons in existence; however, her father's murderer possesses the other half of the blade.
Recently, it was announced that Dreamworks would be creating a live-action version of popular anime, Ghost in the Shell. This anime has amassed quite a large following over the past decade, and when it was announced that Avengers and Lucy star, Scarlett Johansson, would be playing Major Motoko Kusanagi, fans were none too pleased. Fearing that Hollywood was "white-washing" Ghost in the Shell, it was suggested by many that Pacific Rim star Rinko Kikuchi would be a better choice for the role of Kusanagi. Since none of the fans' pleas have seen to go through as of yet, a petition has been started in hopes of ousting Johansson from her part in the Ghost in the Shell film.
