As teased earlier this week, the latest Pokemon headed to the Tekken-inspired Pokken Tournament is the Ghost/Fire-type Chandelure, mixing up the fighter with a character unlike any of the rest. Chandelure was revealed through a new post on the Japanese official Pokken Tournament website, joining other recent additions including Braixen, Mewtwo, and Garchomp. Chandelure will also be included in an upcoming trailer for the game, set for release at the end of this month.
Pokken Tournament is developed by Nintendo as well as Bandai Namco Entertainment, including famed Tekken producer Katsuhiro Harada. After having a highly successful and still on-going arcade run, Pokken Tournament is set for release worldwide on the Wii U this March 18. At launch, the game will feature 16 playable characters, which include Blaziken, Gengar, Lucario, Charizard, Machamp, Suicune, Weavile, Gardevoir, Sceptile, and Pikachu Libre, a luchador-inspired costume for Pikachu. Alongside the main roster are 20 non-playable assist characters, which can help the player out in battle.
