Civilization 6 Will Have Mutiple Leaders For Each Civilization, Starting With Greece
The Civilization series has always had at least two leaders per civilization, and while their special units were the same, it was still nice to have a little bit of variety, especially with the unique bonuses they gave out. Every game and expansion post Civilization IV removed this feature, but with today’s announcement from Firaxis Games that Gorgo would be the second leader for Greece in Civilization VI, not only will each multiple civilizations be coming back in this game, but they’ll also have their own unique play styles as well.
Gorgo joins Pericles as the leader of Greece, but that’s where most of the similarities end. Besides being looking completely different, Gorgo has her own unique ability called Thermopylae, where whenever she kills an enemy unit, 50 percent of that unit’s strength gets converted to her Culture. She also has her own unique likes and dislikes, and will behave a certain way when it comes to negotiating. “Gorgo seeks glory in combat, therefore she will never give up items in a peace deal,” the developer explained in a blog post. “She prefers civs who haven’t yielded in a peace deal and dislikes any civ who has surrendered in a peace deal or any civ who has never engaged in war.” Much like Pericles, her unique unit is the Hoplite and the her unique district is the Acropolis.
You can check out what else Gorgo has to offer in the trailer below. Civilization VI releases on October 21st exclusively for the PC.
