SDCC 2014: The Evil Dead Franchise is to Become a Television Series
There’s no denying that The Evil Dead franchise has swept the nation. It’s debut was originally in 1981, where fans experience The Evil Dead, and later The Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. Last year, there was a re-imagining of the first movie, taking guts and horror to a whole new level. With fans still as invested into the series as they were years ago, it doesn’t seem that big of a stretch that Sam Rami or anyone else previously involved in The Evil Dead franchise would want to bank on this truth. That being said, most might have expected another movie — perhaps re-doing The Evil Dead 2 or even Army of Darkness. However, this year’s San Diego Comic Con brought surprising news.
Sam Rami, who was at SDCC 2014 in order to talk about the movie adaptation of The Last of Us, dropped an exciting bomb on fans of The Evil Dead. There’s not going to be another movie, at least not yet, but The Evil Dead is coming back to the screen.. the little screen. That’s right, fans will be able to feast their eyes upon The Evil Dead — presumably, weekly in a television take on the series. Don’t get too excited now, as details beyond that are currently unknown. Regardless, it’s still something to look forward to!
