Console Versions Of Minecraft Are Expected To Receive New Content Very Soon

Mojang recently announced that the console ports of Minecraft will be getting some big things very soon. According to the developer, the console version of the game will receive a huge update as well as an expansion based on Chinese Mythology.

According to the developer, the Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack will be hitting consoles this fall. The upcoming expansion will feature “an exquisitely crafted world inspired by the myths of the far East.” Additionally, the new DLC will introduce 41 new skins, 13 themed music tracks, as well as a new map for the Battle Mini Game.

The developer also revealed that the console versions of Minecraft will also receive a new free update. The upcoming update will feature polar bears, banners, new terrain generation, new blocks, and more. The full layout of everything coming in the update can be found below:

  • Polar bears and their adorable offspring are to be found wandering frozen biomes.
  • Banners! Spruce the place up with your personalized drapery.
  • New terrain generation: Igloos now appear in Arctic biomes, and gargantuan fossils lie beneath the earth awaiting your discovery.
  • Beetroots! You can farm them and turn them into a restorative soup. Delish!
  • Other new blocks: End Bricks, Grass Path, Frosted Ice, Magma, Nether Wart Block, Red Nether Brick and Bone Block.

Minecraft: Chinese Mythology Mash-Up Pack plus the new update will launch on Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U on October 4th. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 owners will get access to the new content on October 5th.
