Hawkgirl Flies In For Our Injustice: Gods Among Us Cosplay Week
We here at All That’s Epic have been pretty excited for NetherRealm’s fighting game, Injustice: Gods Among Us. Well, the wait is finally over as Injustice reaches its April 16th release tomorrow. In honor of this eventful week and lack of sleep that we will get in our attempt to master each character, we have decided to feature a week’s worth of cosplays dedicated to those DC comics characters that will appear in the game. Hawkgirl, Catwoman, Raven, Harley Quinn, and Wonder Woman will all be making an appearance through cosplay this week. To start this week off, we bring you the beautiful bird of prey, Hawkgirl.
One of the founding members of The Justice League, the life of Shayera Hol is anything but easy. A lieutenant from the planet of Thanagar, she finds herself on planet Earth and takes on the name of Hawkgirl. Creating a name for herself on this new planet, she teams up with Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Batman, The Green Lantern, John Stewart, and J’onn J’onzz to defend her new home. Unfortunately for her, her secret of being from enemy planet Thanagar is revealed, and Hawkgirl is labeled as a traitor and a spy by her comrades and is forced to resign from her duties to The Justice League. This realization also drove a wedge through the committed relationship that Hawkgirl had with fellow Justice League member, John Stewart. Broken hearted and alone, Hawkgirl found herself with nowhere to go, until The Justice League decided that they were better off with her on their team.
Which is lucky for us, because Hawkgirl is definitely a force to be reckoned with. Blessed with the ability of flight using her large, pure-white angelic wings, she wields her mace with a strength that goes beyond that of mere humans. A trained spy with a focus on military science and tactics, Hawkgirl is a formidable opponent, being hard to track, but easily able to track her enemies. Intelligent and powerful, yet graceful, Hawkgirl is a threat of both brains and beauty.
Because of her large wings and elaborate headpiece, cosplaying Hawkgirl would be no minor feat. Even so, Asher Warr took up the challenge and brought Hawkgirl to life in stunning fashion.
