Even though Bioshock Infinite released a few weeks ago, it is still making waves in the gaming community. With its stellar graphics, amazing gameplay, and intriguing storyline and characters, Bioshock Infinite is sure to remain a favorite among gamers for quite some time.
In Bioshock Infinite, we journey through the adventures of Booker DeWitt, a private investigator in desperate need of wiping away his gambling debts. In order to clear his slate, he is offered to retrieve the sky city of Columbia’s little lamb, Elizabeth, who has been imprisoned her entire life. Luckily for Booker, there was someone there to help guide him, and that person was quantum physicist Rosalind Lutece. Rosalind is one of the creators of the vast and beautiful city of Columbia, and is probably one of the smartest, technologically advanced women of her time. Upon having helped create the city, she also created a clone of herself, named Robert. She is also responsible for the creation of the “tears”, which Elizabeth is capable of opening, due to her extensive studies of alternate universes. Rosalind is intelligent, cunning, witty, and mysterious, and she and her “brother” interact in a way that greatly resembles Alice in Wonderland’s Cheshire Cat, providing an interesting, somewhat creepy aspect to the game that makes you want to dig deeper to find out the story behind these two quizzical characters.
We have seen many Bioshock Infinite cosplays over the past few months, but the majoirty of them featured the game’s two main characters: Booker and Elizabeth. For a change of pace, cosplayer Laynes Lion decided to undertake the role of Rosalind Lutece in a crazy accurate depiction that puts herself straight into the game. Her costume and backdrop makes you question reality and wonder if she is actually the real Rosalind Lutece.
