Recently, a huge update for Destiny was released, titled Destiny 2.0. The update added a ton of new refinements and features to the game ahead of the release of the newest expansion, The Taken King. Today however, Destiny announced that all players who downloaded the update will have access to Mayhem Mode, a more intense mode in the Crucible multiplayer mode.
The announcement came via Destiny’s official Twitter account with the message, “get ready for Mayhem Clash at 10am PDT. The Crucible is not liable for injuries sustained herein.” Much like the name implies, Mayhem Mode is a Deathmatch mode where weapons, special ability, grenades, and melee attacks will sped up cooldowns, creating a mode where just about anything goes and where Nova Grenades and Golden Guns can one hit kill an opponent. Truly, this is not a mode for the faint of heart.
Destiny: The Taken King is set to release on September 15th for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Xbox 360.
