It’s just come to everyone’s attention that Deep Silver’s upcoming open-world, first person shooter, Homefront: The Revolution will be pushed back until 2016. When exactly? No one can say, for no specifics have been revealed. As I’ve explained before, I don’t think it’s necessarily a terrible thing for a game to have a delayed release, but when asked for a reason, Deep Silver responded that they want to have every “every opportunity to turn Homefront: The Revolution into a best-selling title.”

“We are excited that Deep Silver’s acquisition of the Homefront IP and assets from Crytek has allowed development of Homefront: The Revolution to continue with minimum disruption,” said game director Hasit Zala. “The team here believes we are working on something truly special.”

“Dambuster Studios are an extraordinarily talented group,” added Dr. Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of Deep Silver. “We are giving the team every opportunity to turnHomefront: The Revolution into a best-selling title, and have set a 2016 release date to provide them the time they need to achieve this. You can expect to hear more about the game later this year.”

Homefront: The Revolution is a shooter taking place in the year 2029, where players follow protagonist Ethan Brady. Brady is staging a resistance against Korea in the city of Philadelphia. Homefront: The Revolution will be available for those on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
