‘Low Violence” Version of Saints Row IV Listed on Steam!

Posted July 2, 2013 by

For anyone who really isn’t into violence – yes, there are some of you out there, then checking out Steam might be worth your while, at least where Saints Row IV is concerned. A ‘low violence’ option of the game has been listed, along with the pre-purchase of the normal version. Currently, the ‘low violence’ version of the game is not available for pre-purchase, but it might be soon.

The new listing came quickly after reports that the Australian Classification Board refused Saints Row IV classification via the “Guidelines for Classification of Computer games.” According to the Board, the title “includes “includes interactive, visual depictions of implied sexual violence which are not justified by context” and the use of “illicit or proscribed drug use”. Though, it seems that the Australian Classification Board’s biggest beef lies with the title’s “Alien Anal Probe” (who would have guessed, right?). It also didn’t care too much for an Alien drug that players can take which gives super abilities when smoked.

Deep Silver is said to be working on a version of the game that will pass classification, that way it will be able to be distributed in Australia. Saints Row IV will be causing havoc on August 20th in North America and August 23rd in Europe for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
