Telltale’s The Walking Dead has been at the forefront of a new age of point and click adventure games. The gripping story of Clementine as she makes her way through the undead abyss tears at the soul, and the level of writing and character development leave little wondering why fans keep clamoring for more. Unfortunately at SXSW this week, the Telltale Games team held a panel that wasn’t exactly music to the ears. Director of PR Job J. Stauffer announced that as confirmed at E3 2014, there would be a third season of the zombie survival series, but this week announced that it wouldn’t be “something you can expect to see super, super soon.”

But on the flip side, Stauffer also commented saying that fans can expect to see more Walking Dead content sooner than that. While Stauffer said little more than that, instead opting to “let the internet work on that one,” that does mean that perhaps we might see another side installment, much like the Walking Dead: 400 Days side episode released in Summer of 2013 to bide time between the first two seasons. The Walking Dead Seasons 1 and 2 are currently available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PS Vita, PC, Mac, iOS, Android, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, and check out the video below for the full panel from SXSW, the Walking Dead announcement comes at around the 41 minute mark.
