Fantasy fans all know Tolkien lore, whether it be The Lord of the Rings trilogy or The Hobbit. Tolkien writings paved the way for other series giants such as Harry Potter, so it’s no wonder the books and movies are still successful to this day. So successful in fact that Warner Bros. and Monolith decided to team up and continue the story in a video game called, Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor.

The game will bridge the gap between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings while following a ranger named Talion, voiced by Troy Baker. However in the new trailer Troy sits with cinematic director Christian Cantamessa and they discuss the levels of motion capture acting they use to further the story of this action RPG. It is clear from the trailer that Tolkien’s vision for the universe has been kept in mind during development. While the story and concept is fresh it is clear that the goal is to further the stories already in existence.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor releases October 7, 2014 on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
