How many times have you heard “I wish I could go back to the 80s” or “I wish I was born in the 80s”? Probably more than two hands can count, and some believe with good reason. Tango Fiesta, a new shooter title, plans to take players back to the decade of legwarmers and side ponytails. While some might immediately think vibrant colors, and Prince songs when they reminisce on the 80s, Tango Fiesta has a little something different in mind. In fact, the title will allow gamers to explore some of the biggest 80s action movies, and play through them, uncovering the “true stories” behind each as they go on.
Tango Fiesta also has characters within it that will parody those from Commando, Predator, Army of Darkness, Robocop and a few others. The title is a top down, twin stick shooter developed by Spilt Milk and published by Mastertronic. Four players can team up together, and try to out do each other while blasting through enemies with assault rifles, shotguns, grenade launchers, and “sonic electric ball breakers.”
Tango Fiesta releases on June 4th via Steam Early Access. Take a peek at the trailer embedded below.
