Overwatch’s Uprising Event Is Now Live

Overwatch’s new Uprising event is now live. With it comes a variety of skins, emotes, and various other cosmetic items.

Unlike previous events, which were mostly based on a real life event or holiday, Uprising brings a much needed look at the game’s lore, as it focuses on a younger Overwatch team, consisting of Mercy, Tracer, Torbjörn, and Reinhardt, heading to King’s Row to fight off an Omnic uprising. The events that lead up to Uprising were explained in the prequel digital comic, but there’s also a mini story video that goes into detail, as well as a look at the new mode in action, which you can check out below.

Besides this new in-game event, you’ll be able to get new skins for the four playable characters (as well as some for other characters like Widowmaker and Genji), as well as some new emotes for characters like D.Va. Uprising starts today and lasts until May 1st, after which these unlocks go bye bye.

Overwatch is out now for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4.
