PlayStation Now Support Is Being Dropped For PlayStation 3, Vita, And More

If you’ve been using PlayStation Now on anything other than the PlayStation 4 and the PC, I’ve got some bad news for you. Starting in August of this year, support for the feature will be dropped on most PlayStation devices, including the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

First launching in 2015, the service was described by Sony as a “Netflix for games”, where players could enjoy a wide variety of games from any of Sony’s systems, including the PS3, the Vita, and various Sony media devices and TVs. That’s all going to change come August 15th of this year, where the service will be dropped for everything except PC and PlayStation 4, which according to Sony, is being done “improve the user experience on these two devices. This move puts us in the best position to grow the service even further.” In case you’re wondering, devices no longer being supported include:

PlayStation 3
PlayStation Vita and PlayStation TV
All 2013, 2014, 2015 Sony Bravia TV models
All Sony Blu-ray player models
All Samsung TV models

Additionally, Sony also announced that all 2016 Bravia models will lose support much earlier on April 1st of this year. While it is a bummer to hear about these devices losing PlayStation Now support, at the very least it’s great of Sony to give everyone a heads up before shutting the service down for these devices.
