Ahead of the release of Super Mario Maker tomorrow, legendary game developer Shigeru Miyamoto has taken some time to debunk and confirm some myths about the beloved Mario series in a video released via Nintendo UK’s YouTube channel. You can check out that video below.

The answers range from informative, such as the fact that yes, Mario was named after Nintendo of America warehouse landlord Mario Segale, to silly (Miyamoto is Bowser Jr.’s mom?), and for some people shocking, as it was confirmed by Miyamoto that yes, Super Mario Bros. 3 was an elaborate stage show. That last one was widely believed by many fans in the community for years, so while it may not come as a surprise to many fans, it is still nice to have that confirmed by the creator himself. The video doesn’t answer a lot of the questions fans have had about the series, but it still pretty fun nonetheless, as many videos with the legendary developer tend to be.

Super Mario Maker is set to release tomorrow September 11th exclusively for the Wii U.
