It’s time for some good news and some bad news, Sonic fans. The bad news is that Sonic Mania, the upcoming throwback to classic Sonic games, has been delayed. The good news is that Sega has revealed a new classic stage is making a comeback.

The news comes from Sega themselves, who were at this year’s SXSW to talk more about the Sonic series. While it’s a bummer that now Sonic Mania is now releasing in Summer of 2017 instead of Spring of 2017, Sega softened the blow a bit by revealing the return of a classic Sonic stage. From Sonic 3 & Knuckles, Flying Battery Zone will be added to the game; as a fan of the original game and the stage, this news pleases me.

You can check out the new level in a short trailer below; which looks to have the same look, feel, and sound (oh does it sound good) of the original, albeit with a few smaller tweaks. Sonic Mania is set to release in the Summer of 2017 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.
