Nintendo’s upcoming third person shooter, Splatoon, will soon be released in May for the Wii U, and the company is giving out some details about the Ranked Battle Mode this epic game will soon include.
This new mode will be based on Objective game types, however the mode will be officially released post game launch. The player does have to unlock the Ranked Battle Mode however, meaning the gamer has to hit level 10 in online Turf Wars.
“Once you reach level 10, you’ll be able to play ranked battles,” a Nintendo Representative stated. “However, we’ll be watching the global progress of how many people reach level 10 and once that’s hit a certain threshold, we’ll turn that on for everyone to play.”
Nintendo stated the reason behind the level 10 unlocking feature. Turf Wars will teach players skills and basic game mechanics that will come in handy in those ranked battles. We do not know how many players will be needed in order to unlock the Ranked Battles worldwide.
