Square Enix Files a Trademark for World of Assassination

Yesterday Square Enix filed a trademark for World of Assassination via Europe’s Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market. NeoGAF spotted the filing. In the goods and services section among the typical “video game software” tags is a tag for “games for mobile phones.” This tag along with the title has led many to speculate that the game may be another Hitman game that is hitting production.

Considering the success of Hitman GO, the recent mobile game spinoff of the Hitman series, it seems not only likely, but almost certain. The title “World of Assassination” gives pause for questioning however, as it may hint at an open-world title. The mobile games tag could be a filing to protect a companion app or a mobile adaptation of the title. Only time will tell what this game turns out to be however, so stay tuned to All That’s Epic for more updates.
