Christmas seems to have come early for Wii U owners. Nintendo has just announced that 2007 Wii classic Super Mario Galaxy will be coming to the US Wii U eShop.

Starting tomorrow, December 24th (a.k.a Christmas Eve Day), North American Wii U owners can download the excellent platformer for $19.99, which is the same price as the physical copy of the game costs. Unfortunately, outside of being able to play it on the Gamepad with the motion controls (it’s weird and not something I would recommend having done it myself), there aren’t any new features for the game; it’s just a port of the original that released in 2007 without any bells or whistles. Granted, the game is absolutely amazing, but for those who already own it, it might not be a priority to by.

Still, for those who never played it initially and own a Wii U, it’s a no brainer; you owe it to yourself to buy Super Mario Galaxy. It’s a wonderful platformer with excellent controls, wonderful levels, and one of the best soundtracks I’ve ever heard in a video game. It really is one of Nintendo’s best games, and my personal favorite game of all time.
