According to a report from IGN Sony has issued a survey which suggests that the company is considering implementing a reputation system as well as the option to change your PlayStation Username in unannounced future updates. The survey which is embedded below has been designed to ascertain user interest in a range of different features that could possibly make their way into the PlayStation ecosystem, that is, assuming there is a demand for such changes. Alongside this proposed reputation system Sony is probing the possibility of introducing an advanced matchmaking system that would attempt to pair you with preferred payers or players of a similar skill level to you as well as introducing the option of appearing offline.

For me the most interesting line of enquiry is question four, how appealing would you find the ability to change your PlayStation username? Personally I have no desire to change my username, but it’s clear that this is an obvious feature missing from the PSN. Sony has not announced even a vague time line for when me might see any of these updates, if we do at all, but in the mean time, be sure to stay tuned for all your latest in gaming news.
