We got our hands on the upcoming Nintendo 3DS title, Disney Magical World, and at first we had no idea what to expect; yet, we had envisioned it being a game along similar lines as Animal Crossing. But after pouring an unspeakable amount of hours into the game, Disney Magical World has much more depth than originally fathomed and far exceeds expectations. Many of you may not know much about Disney Magical World, so here is a bit of overview of what you can look forward to in the upcoming game.

Disney Magical World lets you delve into the world of Disney as your personally created Mii character. There is a wide range of customizable options when it comes to your character, and there is a heavy emphasis on scavenging and crafting. By visiting Daisy’s shop, you are able to create costumes from the materials and objects that you have found throughout the world. Some items may be quite difficult to find, but others you can purchase from another shop found in Disney’s Magical World that is owned by Scrooge McDuck. There are an insane amount of outfits and clothing pieces to collect, and creating a perfectly coordinated outfit yields you rewards from the community. My personal favorite outfit so far has been a Mrs. Potts from Beauty and the Beast ensemble, and without a doubt you will find an outfit that will make you more excited than you ought to be.

As you continue to level through Disney Magical World, you will earn the ability to own your own Cafe. This is where your highly advanced scavenging skills will also come into play, as the Cafe gives you an even further range of customization. You will be able to decorate your Cafe to your liking, including wallpaper, flooring, and other decorations. The best part of the Cafe is that you can create your own food items using resources that you have found and harvested throughout the world. The more difficult the ingredients for a snack, sweet, or drink are to find, the more they will cost the customers, and the more money you will receive from them! The money that you get from the Cafe can be put towards purchasing more furniture, clothing, or other items.

The most surprising feature in Disney Magical World is that there is actual combat, providing us with a bit of action in a generally calm and relaxing game. After progressing through the game, you will receive a mission that yields in you gaining a wand. With this wand, you can complete quests in the worlds of various Disney characters such as Winnie the Pooh, Cinderella, and Alice from Alice in Wonderland. In the quests, you will battle against Disney Magical World’s prime villains: evil ghosts that are plaguing the towns and causing all sorts of mischief. These quests will yield you even more items and collectibles to fuel your crafting needs.
