Wolfenstein: The New Order Creative Director Has Aspirations for a Sequel
Wolfenstein: The New Order creative director Jens Matthies has revealed that the studio has aspirations of creating a sequel to their critically acclaimed alternate-history FPS. “We would love to do a sequel,” said Matthies. “We have a very, very clear idea of what we accomplished with this game, and what we want to accomplish with a sequel.”
Matthies notes that if the studio was to develop a sequel he would like to, “take pre-production one step further,” because The New Order was three-and-a-half years in development, “and given how long it takes to make a game these days, this kind of game, and whenever you design in terms of preproduction, what becomes the plan for all of those years, has to be a flawlessly polished diamond.” Matthies adds that, “If it isn’t, you end up paying for that further down the line. You have to react to it, change, and do stuff.”
Wolfenstein: The New Order launched on Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One late last month and was praised for its refined combat mechanics and interesting narrative.
