Free Maps, Cards, And More Are Coming To Star Wars Battlefront

On December 1st, Star Wars Battlefront will be getting free maps based on the Battle of Jakku, tying into Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens. But according to EA and developer DICE, this won’t be the last free piece of DLC coming to the game, as more is currently being planned.

As part of a blog post on the company’s official site, Vice President of EA Studios Patrick Söderlund talked a bit about the legacy that Star Wars has had, and how big of a deal it is that EA is making games based on the series, as well as touched base a bit about the map based on Jakku, which is set 29 years before the movie. But toward the end of the post, Söderlund mentioned talked a bit about the future of the game. “Of course, we are also planning to support Star Wars Battlefront with new content well into the future,” he said. “We will be adding more of what you love about the game, like new maps and Star Cards, for free in the coming months, in addition to all of the content we have coming with Season Pass. We’ll have more to share soon.”

A bit of a nonchalant way to announce that if you ask me, but hey free is free, and having more of it is never a bad thing. Star Wars Battlefront is available PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
