Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones

Is ‘Indiana Jones 5’ Coming in 2018?

When Disney bought Lucasfilm and all of its epic properties, they also acquired the rights to the Indiana Jones franchise. Now, AintItCool is citing a trusted source who claims that Indiana Jones 5 is slated for release towards the end of 2018.

Taking this news with a grain of salt (as we do all things Hollywood), it’s fun to speculate on the possibilities. It’s unknown if Harrison Ford, who is a spry 72 years-old, will again take the lead in the sequel. The latest favorite to take over the role of the adventurous archaeologist is Chris Pratt though, by Pratt’s own account, no official talks have taken place.

5 Things Disney Needs to do to Make Indiana Jones 5 Great

Back in May, Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy made the bold statement that a new Indiana Jones film “will one day be made inside this company. When it will happen, I’m not quite sure. We haven’t started working on a script yet, but we are talking about it.”

Questions abound: Will Spielberg direct? Will Harrison Ford return? If not, which young actor is worthy of the iconic whip and fedora?
