Microsoft’s Not Ruling Out Backward Compatibility On PC
Xbox chief Phil Spencer has told fans not to rule out the chance that Xbox 360 backward compatible could come to PC. While this would certainly be incredible, Spencer did warn that it would be a lot of work.
When responding to a question on Twitter from a fan asking if backward compatibility would ever come to PC, Spencer replied, “Running BC reliably on all the different PC HW configs would be a lot more work than XB1, but never say never.” It isn’t a confirmation, but at least Microsoft isn’t ruling the possibility out. Considering how much Microsoft has had the Xbox One mingling more and more with Windows 10, moving the backward compatible system to PC would make sense, even if it would be a difficult task.
The backward compatible program has been a huge hit on Xbox One with more and more games constantly being added. Getting over the technical burden to bring these games to another audience may be worth it, but for now we will just have to wait and see what Microsoft has planned.
