Today is the release of the highly anticipated Star Wars Battlefront. Whether it’s ultimately as good as its predecessors remains to be seen, but for now publisher EA is already in talks to make a sequel. In fact, EA recently detailed their 10 year plan to make a ton of new Star Wars games.
Speaking recently at the UBS Global Technology Conference, EA’s CFO Blake Jorgensen discussed more in detail what their 10 year exclusive Star Wars deal would mean. “We struck a licensing deal with Disney a few years back that’s almost ten years in length”, Jorgensen said. “The game that comes out tomorrow, Star Wars Battlefront, is a traditional first-person style shooter game. Our goal is to make future Battlefront games as well as other style games around the Star Wars franchise, both on mobile as well as console and PC. It’s a huge opportunity for us.”
Star Wars: Battlefront is out now for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
