Relativity’s The Crow remake has been swirling in development purgatory for close to a decade. Now, the film finally appears to be moving forward. The Wrap is reporting that the reboot will begin filming in January 2017, with director Corin Hardy at the helm.

According to The Wrap, Jason Momoa (Game of Thrones, Aquaman) will play Eric Draven, the role played by the late Brandon Lee in the 1994 original. In the film, the ill-fated guitarist is resurrected to avenge the murders of himself and his fiancee one year after their untimely deaths. No other casting details have been officially announced.
As further circumstantial evidence of the project’s progress, Momoa posted a photo of himself with Hardy on Instagram last month with the #sealthedeal hashtag.
