I think I’d have to see a screen test. I mean, every time I think of Tom Hardy I see him shoving his heel into a two-headed lizard, or I hear “Ah, you think Darkness is your ally? Mister Wayne?”

So, apparently Irish Online Bookmaker BoyleSports has new poll results on who’s the most popular contender to play James Bond 007 after Daniel Craig’s imminent departure.

According to BoyleSports spokesperson Liam Glynn, Tom Hardy has 4/1 odds to take over the role, matching Henry Cavill’s (Man of Steel) 4/1. Damian Lewis (Homeland) has 3/1 odds and so does Idris Elba (Luther) at the moment, despite Anthony Horowitz’s rapidly detracted, arguably coded assessment of Elba as “too street” to play Bond.

Craig, of course, still has his performance as James Bond in Spectre to debut in November, though he was recently pretty adamant that he feels like Spectre will be his last outing as 007.

Do you think Tom Hardy would make a good James Bond? Do any of the above actors seem like better fits over the others? Let us know in the comments.
