There’s a new update rolling out for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, that adds a ton of new features, including new equipment, FOB missions, and…..insurance? Yep, you can now get insurance for your Mother Base.
As it sits now, players can only invade the FOB (or Field Operation Bases) of other players, but with this new update, players can now invade special bases created by the developers. There’s no enemy soldiers guarding the base, so you can raid the base and get what you need without fear of repercussion. The update adds FOB Insurance, which for some MB Coins, you can pay to have your base compensated for anything that is stolen by enemy players, including staff and items.
There will also be seven new weapons and equipment coming to the game that can be researched, including the S-1000 AIR S-Shotgun, HAIL MGR-4 Grenade Launcher, and the AM MRS-71 Rifle. Other changes include giving night vision for your guards on your Mother Base, infiltrating FOBs without detection, reduce FOB expansion times, and more. Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is available now for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC.
