The sixth annual North Carolina Comicon took place this past weekend at the Durham Convention Center and drew in an estimated 10,000 attendees, according to its creator and co-director Alan Gill. Its major guests this year were Gerard Way and Charlie Adlard, two of the industry’s top creators.
Way, most famous for being the lead vocalist and co-founder of the American alternative rock band My Chemical Romance, which split in March 2013, is also the writer of such comics as the Eisner award-winning The Umbrella Academy from Dark Horse Comics. And for fans of The Walking Dead, Adlard has been illustrating the comic series since issue #7 in 2004.
As fans met with these guests for autograph signings and panel discussions, another major component of the con was of course the cosplayers there. The weekend featured a wealth of great cosplay. Check out our gallery here and let us know if any of your favorite characters made an appearance!
