After weeks of playtesting on the PTR, it’s finally time. Orisa, Overwatch’s newest Hero, is now live on both consoles and PC.
Starting today, you can use Orisa in both Quickplay and Arcade. If you’re wondering about Competitive Play, she’s banned from that for one week starting today. The reason is quite simple really: the team wants players to get a chance to use her before putting her into competitive play. “When patch 1.9 releases tomorrow, Orisa will not initially be available for Competitive Play”, explained designer Scott Mercer in a forum post yesterday. “We want to give players some time to learn about and play Orisa before she’s placed into the crucible of Competitive Play.”
Orisa is a tank character who has a fortify ability which increases the damage she can take, a graviton charge that pulls enemies in (similar to Zanya’s Ultimate), and a protective barrier that shields Orisa and her allies from attacks. Her ultimate is a supercharger that increases her allies damage output, provided they’re in her line of sight.
Overwatch is out now for the PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. You can check out a short video going over Orisa’s abilities below.
