Pokémon Go’s Newest Update Makes It Easier To Catch Kanto Starters

Remember when last week we reported on a new update for Pokémon Go that would make it for a short time easier to catch the starters? Well, that update is now live today, and just in time to wrap up the new year.

Starting today, and lasting until January 8th, the Kanto starters and their evolutions will be much easier to find in the wild, meaning that I’ll finally be able to evolve my Charmander and Bulbasaur. Or you know, just catch their evolutions out in the wild. That works too.

Additionally, for a short time, Lure Modules will also work twice as long, with Pokémon showing up at Lures for 60 minutes instead of the usual 30. Combine that with Kanto starters showing up more frequently, and you have yourself a reason to go and trying to catch them all again.

Pokémon Go is available now for all iOS and Android devices, as well as the Apple Watch.
