R-Rated Stop-Motion Trailer for ‘Hell and Back’ Released

Here’s an unusual combination of styles and tastes. Shadow Machine, the studio that produces Triptank, Bojack Horseman and Robot Chicken is producing a feature length R-Rated Claymation film called Hell and Back– with all the sexual content, foul language and Generation Y humor you might expect.

The story follows Augie and Remy who follow their missing friend Curt through a portal to hell at an amusement park. Hell turns out to be full of mundane tortures, ego centric demons and bureaucracy. But Augie and Remy cut a deal with a sultry devil (voiced by Mila Kunis) to get their friend back.

Just take a look for yourself.

Looks like it could be clever and funny. I expect most people will take one look and decide whether it’s for them or not, but I’m still not sure. The animation is certainly impressive. Hell and Back stars T.J. Miller, Nick Swardson, Bob Odenkirk, Rob Riggle, Danny McBride, Michael Peña, Mila Kunis, Susan Sarandon and Jennifer Coolidge.

Here’s the official synopsis; “In the outrageous R rated animated comedy from the Animation studio that brought you “Robot Chicken,” “Triptank” and “Bojack Horseman,” three friends embark on a wayward journey into the deepest, darkest depths of hell to rescue one of their own. While navigating their escape, they provoke a slew of misfit demons, a super sexy angel, infamous Greek legends, and the Devil himself; Hell has never been hotter!”

Go the Hell and Back in theaters October 2nd.
