SDCC 2014: Check Out the Poster for Live-Action Remake of Controversial Japanese Anime ‘Kite’
Revenge is a dish best served with a lot of grotesque violence and bloody fun, and that’s what you’ll get with the remake of Kite. Originally a controversial Japanese anime turned cult classic and fan favorite, now Kite takes on a live-action version with big Hollywood names! What with the release just around the corner, where would be better than to San Diego Comic Con to release an exclusive poster?
For those of you who have never seen the original anime, be warned that the story is quite upsetting. Main character, Sawa, is a young girl living in a dangerous city full of gangs and crime, and her cop father and mother are brutally murdered in their home. Sawa, who is played by India Eisley from Secret Life of the American Teenager, enlists the help of her fathers ex-partner, Karl Aker played by Samuel L. Jackson, and childhood friend she becomes an unstoppable teen assassin. As she savagely makes her way through the disturbing world of human trafficking, killing along the way, she digs up secrets darker than her own.
Kite premieres exclusively for DIRECTV on August 28th and then in select theaters, on demand, and on iTunes October 10th.
