‘Agents of SHIELD’ S1 E20 Recap ‘Nothing Personal’

Fitz, Gemma and Skye are talking about a new plan and what the next move should be. Coulson steps in and what them to meet up. Charts make understanding things so much easier and when they are all on board, Skye’s Trojan Horse is almost ready and needs a computer to activate it. But, she needs a computer and May is up to something. Vigilantes, coming in and burning HYDRA down for everything they have done, sounds like a true plan to me.

On the bus, HYDRA is talking about taking over and being able to do something. The happy campers spread more happiness and when Ward and Garrett walk into a room, Raina has been able to repeat the formula that helped brought Skye and Coulson back to life.

Back at the hotel. Coulson is communicating, a new plan is already in the works. Fitz is showing so worries about the plan but he hopes that all will run smoothly. Triplett on the other hand has a huge yellow suitcase and it turns out that everything in side is spy gear and well worth it. Cigarettes that are actually lasers, EMPs and all the other necessary tools needed to help bring down HYDRA. Watch out, the team is coming!

Flashback – fifteen years ago, Garrett and Ward are duck hunting. Garrett tries to instill qualities into Ward and he brings him down, diving him into a dark hole. Will Ward pull through? At least he has the dog with him and some clothes.

Coulson and May are wearing glasses and disguised as someone of importance at Cybertech. Skye and Triplett are in the truck, and Skye is trying to hack in for some sort of data that can be useful. Skye wants them to stall them a little longer so she can pull more of information or attempt too. Meanwhile, the two have a tool that they are trying to “sell”, putting Fitz and Gemma into their ears to recite important information. When they are done, they are escorted to the elevator. They take the man down and head back out. They are able to get into a room with all of the hard copies of files. It is interesting that there is no computer files and it is all hard copies.

Back on the bus, Deathlok wants to know more and questions Raina. It was her job and she had to do it, but does it mean that she has the same abilities as he?

Coulson and May are poking around and find a Deathlok file, and Garrett is the main attraction. WOW! It turns out that the files were from the 80s and he was the first test subject. Coulson radio’s over to Skye – large file transfer incoming! Triplett launches a wire, May and Coulson zip down to the ground and they escape before anyone is harmed.

Back in the rain, fifteen years ago, Ward is sitting under a tree with Buddy. But back on the bus Ward takes it out on Garrett and Garrett has regrets about taking him in for training. Garrett begins choking and falls over, Ward grabs him and pulls him in, orders everyone in the room out and gets him back into tip top shape.

Skye has a lot of information and she is presenting what she knows. Fitz is still skeptical and Skye wants more. Pizza is delivered, but for no one there. Hmm.

Ward has gotten Garrett to revitalize him and Ward thinks it has been a while. Garrett confesses that it has been happening more often, and those at Cybertech have given him one maybe two months tops to live with failing organs.

May walks into the room and asks Skye why she hasn’t come out. Not hungry. Both of them are furious with him after falling for him and May has been mining up all the aggression just for Ward. Coulson comes in and says that information has been bouncing back to Cuba. Havana it is!

In Cuba, at the barber shop, Quinn is the face of HYDRA, Garrett is in the chair for a haircut and Ward is getting information from Raina. Raina pages Ward, making him think that there is something wrong and Raina brings up Skye. Raina goes to head for Garrett but Ward wants to know more. Raina has been digging through files and all about Skye. The babies parents turns out to be the monsters that destroyed a village, but this is just a story and nothing has been confirmed.

Flashback – Garrett walks in to a camp and Ward comes in behind him with a gun. Oh, how he would love to blow him to pieces. A few months has turned into six on account of assignment. Garrett grabs his gun and shoots a few places around the camp and hands the gun over. Time to train him.

Back to present day, Ward is talking about the plan and Raina heads towards him with the current formula. It isn’t perfected but it is damn close to the one that brought back Coulson and Skye.

Coulson and the team circle up and talk game plan. They split up and it is time for them to track them down. Fitz and Gemma are at the airfield; Skye, May, Coulson, and Triplett are at the barber shop, it’s empty but Skye is not sure that it is even empty. Gemma was ordered by Coulson to stay off the airfield and to meet them, but Gemma thinks they should pursue it. Fitz turns to gather something and there stands Ward. Hello!

Ten years ago, Ward and Garrett are talking about loyalty and how wonderful dogs are. But where does loyalty stand with other around you? Garrett also asks Ward if he has heard of HYDRA, secret organization inside another secret organization.

Ward brings Fitz and Gemma on board and loads up to take off. Fitz has something in his hand but what is it? One of the hand buzzers? Oh yeah, an EMP and Garrett is down due to the transmission. Uh oh! Ward rushes to the back, orders Raina to call Cybertech and heads back to try and revive him. Fitz wants him to die, after all the mean and cruel things that Garrett has put them through.

Back on the hunting grounds ten years ago, Ward shoots a deer and is glad to have dinner. Once he is done, he is all ears for Garrett’s news. Ward is a part of SHIELD and effective immediately, he is also to not get attached to anyone, now shoot the dog.

Back in modern day, Garrett is about to go and he wants Ward to bring down Fitz and Gemma, but there is another time for that. Ward must be there for Garrett. Raina also has been given permission to check out the hardware, it’s centipede. Although it has not been working, he’s too far gone. Ward chases Fitz and Gemma down, to kill them and they are behind bullet proof glass. They refuse to leave and Ward begins dealing with some of the controls. Don’t do it! You care about them Ward! The pod that Gemma and Fitz are in, plummets into the ocean. During all of this, he remembers when he had to kill the dog, how hurtful it was to kill something you loved.

Raina has the serum and Garrett has ordered her to inject him with it or he will die indefinitely. She injects in and places it back in. Garrett flares up bright orange and feels incredible. Could that have been it?

Coulson, Triplett, May and Skye are searching for a computer but with a thick wall in the way, is there something behind it that can benefit them? When they open it, a Centipede soldier is sitting there, and it puts a stop in the plan.

In Washington D.C., Quinn is meeting up with some contacts that could benefit in whatever he has planned. The price was worth it and Quinn markets a super soldier, aka Deathlok. Not one, but a thousand of them! With HYDRA on the rise, SHIELD no longer, it is time to market something that could benefit mankind and gentlemen, would you like a tour?

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs next week on Tuesday for it’s season finale at 8 p.m. on ABC. Agents stars Clark Gregg as Phil Coulson, Ming-Na as Melinda May, Brett Dalton as Grant Ward, Iain de Caestecker as Leo Fitz, Elizabeth Henstridge as Gemma Simmons and Chloe Bennet as Skye.
