“DuckTales” Reboot Coming to Disney XD in 2017
The 1980s are coming back with DuckTales for the younger generation!
Disney announced yesterday that fans can expect to see the series on Disney XD in 2017. The Emmy-winning series ran from 1987 through 1990 in the afternoon block time slot. The popular animated show also spawned a 1990 theatrical release.

Duck Tales has recently found new life as a video game and in reruns. It’s safe to say that Huey, Dewey and Louie will be joining McDuck and Donald for another go around. Other characters we can expect to see in 2017 include: Duckworth, Gyro Gearloose, Launchpad McQuack, Flintheart Glomgold, Magica DeSpell, Poe, Ma Beagle and the Beagle Boys (Burger Beagle, Bouncer Beagle), Mrs. Beakley, and Webbigail Vanderquack.
Senior VP Marc Buhaj stated, “DuckTales’ has a special place in Disney’s TV animation history, it drew its inspiration from Disney Legend Carl Barks’ comic books and through its storytelling and artistic showmanship, set an enduring standard for animated entertainment that connects with both kids and adults.” He also went on to say, “Our new series will bring that same energy and adventurous spirit to a new generation.”
Sounds like the mischief is just beginning!
