“Once Upon A Time” Casts Ursula and Cruella de Vil

If these two don’t scare you, no evil thing will. The second of half of season 4 of Once Upon A Time is going to be a veritable cross-hatch of Disney Villains. We’d previously heard that Kristen Bauer van Straten would return to the show as Maleficent. And now it seems we’re getting two additional villains.

Merrin Dungey will assume the role of Ursula, who was previously hinted at back in Season 3 when Regina impersonated her and tricked Ariel. Victoria Smurfit will also join the cast as the fur-craving Cruella de Vil, a brand new kind of villain for Once Upon A Time.

Previously, almost all of Once Upon A Time’s adaptations of classic fairytales included fantastic elements, but Cruella comes from a, comparatively, mundane world. How is Cruella de Vil supposed to strike fear in the hearts of Storybrooke like Zelena of The Snow Queen did?

I suppose we’ll have to wait to find out. ABC is being pretty tight lipped about how the show is going to get from Rumpel and the Snow Queen as the major villains to Ursula, Cruella and Maleficent as the big bad girls.

Once Upon A Time continues it’s fourth Season on ABC Sunday December 29th.
