The Vampire Diaries Season Four Recap
Episode 4:7– My Brother’s Keeper
As a vampire hunter, Jeremy has visions and desires to kill Elena since she is now a vampire. In order to get the cure for Elena, Stefan, Damon and Klaus encourage Jeremy to kill other vampires so the map on Jeremy’s skin grows larger. Elena and Damon succumb to their feelings for each other and sleep together. Meanwhile, Caroline realizes that Elena does everything Damon asks, and thus concludes Elena is sired to Damon.
Episode 4:8– We’ll Always Have Bourbon Street
Stefan and Damon travel to New Orleans to find a witch from their past that knows how to break the sire bond. They learn there is not a cure for the sire bond; the only way to release the bond is to set the bonded vampire free. Caroline tells Elena about the sire bond, but Elena believes she actually loves Damon.
Episode 4:9– O Come, All Ye Faithful
Professor Shane, Jeremy, Elena, Bonnie, and Damon all visit the Gilbert lakehouse to try and teach Jeremy to resist his urge to murder Elena. At the lakehouse, Damon releases Elena from the sire bond. Meanwhile, Klaus discovers his hybrids are planning to murder him, so he in turn murders his twelve hybrids and he kills Tyler’s mother in revenge.
Episode 4:10– After School Special
Rebakah traps Stefan, Elena, and Caroline at their schools and forces them to tell her information about the vampire cure because she wants the cure for herself. Klaus works with Jeremy to make his hunter’s mark grow by murdering multiple humans and turning them into vampires, so Jeremy can kill them in return. Klaus wants Jeremy’s mark to appear so they can quickly find the vampire cure and give it to Elena so he can use her blood to create more hybrids. Lastly, we learn Shane has been plotting all along to bring back Silas and the ritualistic murders and dealings with vampire hunters are all somehow involved in his plans.
Episode 4:11– Catch Me If You Can
Klaus’ brother and one of the Originals, Kol, comes back to Mystic Falls. He is adamantly against unearthing Silas and finding the cure. He explains freeing Silas will bring hell on earth. Kol tries his best to kill Jeremy in order to prevent the gang from using the vampire hunter map to find the cure, but Elena realizes if Jeremy kills Kol, Jeremy will kill all of the vampire in Kol’s vampire line and his map will be complete. Kol compels Damon to kill Jeremy, but Stefan locks Damon up in order to stop him from killing Jeremy.
Episode 4:12– A View To Kill
Klaus is determined to kill his brother, Kol, as are Elena and Jeremy. Elena lures Kol into their house and Jeremy manages to kill him. Klaus arrives right as his brother dies, and tells Elena and Jeremy that he doesn’t want the cure to create more hybrids; he wants it so he can destroy it to prevent anyone using it on him. After killing Kol, Jeremy’s full hunter’s mark appears and the group figures out where the cure is based off of the map on Jeremy’s chest.
