We all died a little on the inside when Dale, basically the grandfather and wisest of the group, died in the (let’s face it) dumbest way possible. In the episode “Judge, Jury, Executioner”, Dale pleaded to the group to spare Randall, the kid from an enemy camp that caused major trouble for Rick in town. Dale was always spitting wisdom to the fellow survivors, showing them that they can still retain the way the world use to be by the actions they take now. Unfortunately, Dale met his demise at the hands of a walker on Hershel’s farm, indirectly caused by Carl. After being disemboweled, Daryl shot Dale in the head out of mercy, making sure their wisest member didn’t come back as something incredibly dangerous.
