The season 6 finale of True Blood had fans pulling out their fangs, for many reasons. Probably the biggest reason was the apparent death of one of the series longest running characters, Eric Nothman, the millennia-year-old Vampire Viking Don Juan. Last we saw of Eric, he was lounging on a Scandinavian Mountaintop, under the effect of fairy blood that negated the deadly sunlight, reading a book and nude…That is, until the resistance suddenly wore off and the camera drew back on his body, burning to a crisp.

Despite being a pretty boss way to go, you couldn’t blame fans for feeling like that death would be a bit sudden and pointless. But Alexander Skarsgård had a few reassuring words for fans; “He’s surrounded by a lot of wet snow. That might give you a hint. The environment of northern Sweden helps him quite a bit”.

Most fans expect Eric will return. But recently Skarsgård has had a bit more to say on different aspect of Eric’s character. We’ve seen him in perform in sexual scenes with men and women in the show, including Ryan Kwanten who plays Jason Stackhouse.

Bit of context; in the True Blood universe, Vampire blood is an EXTREMELY POWERFUL (as in plot device powerful) restorative that can save people from near death. So naturally it gets used to that affect. However, it’s also an EQUALLY POWERFUL aphrodisiac for humans and the more taken, the greater the influence. If a human has vampire blood in their system it will also cause the human to have sexual dreams involving the vampire they drank it from, even if the vampire is outside their sexual preference.

You could imagine what a gift this is to True Blood shippers in every camp. So Kwanten and Skarsgård performed in one these “blood dreams” as I like to call them. “It was written like an Argentinean telenovela,” Skarsgård said, “totally over the top. It was tough because Ryan is incredibly funny. I couldn’t stop laughing.”

Will Eric survive into the seventh and final season of True Blood? We’ll have to tune into HBO on June 22 to find out!
