The Elder Scrolls Online Will Introduce A New Dye System
Recently, Zenimax Online showed off the upcoming dye system for The Elder Scrolls Online‘s. According to the developer, ESO Plus Costume Dyes and Dye Stamps are the two options players will have to customize their outfits in the game.
For players who have an ESO Plus membership, you will be able to customize equipped costumes and hats at any Dye Station that you come across in the game. Every dyed outfit you create, it will be saved individually for characters, allowing different color diversity for the same outfit. Once your membership expires, you will still keep your dyed items, however, you will have to renew your membership if you wish to edit or make new dyed outfits.
“Simply approach any Dye Station in Tamriel, equip the costume and/or hat you wish to dye, and open the new Costume Dying tab. Select the dyes you’d like to use from your palette of unlocked Achievement dyes, and when you’re satisfied with the appearance, save the item and enjoy your customized masterpiece,” the developer states. “You can define sets, copy a color, or clear an applied color to return your item to its original appearance just as you can with our armor dyeing system. You can also sort your unlocked colors by rarity or hue. Hovering over a locked color will show you the achievement you need to complete in order to unlock it.”
The second option available to players is Dye Stamps, which can be bought from the Crown Store, with the starting price at 50 Crowns. Dye Stamps can be applied to a single equipped costume or hat and contains a preselected color combination and can be used one-time.
The dye system will be included in update 11, which will launch on August 1st for the PC. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will have to wait until August 16th to access the new update.
