10 New Year’s Eve Movies That Are Better Than Going Out

We all have movies that we like, and ones that we do not like. But here at All that’s Epic, we have taken the liberty of compiling a list of epic movies that are so much better than going to a lame New Year’s Eve party. We’ve included a little bit of everything, so take a look, and plan on grabbing a case of beer for yourself because your New Year’s Eve is about to become Epic!

 

Expendables (2010)
A CIA operative hires a team of mercenaries to get rid of a Latin dictator and another agent. Needless to say, shit hits the fan but the Expendables come out on top as each member has a specialty needed for each mission.

 


New Year’s Eve (2011)
The all-star cast is here with stars like Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Josh Duhamel, Katherine Heigl and (WHEW!) so much more. When a woman wants to complete a list of New Year’s resolutions from the previous New Year’s, she is running out of time. She calls on Zac Efron’s character, Paul for help.

 


The Dark Knight Rises (2012)
Bane comes to take over Gotham City and the Dark Knight has to come back to restore the dignity and protect the city that ultimately made him a hero. Christian Bale stars as the man in black, Bruce Wayne. Tom Hardy and Joseph Gordon Levitt also star in this kick ass film.

 


Iron Man 2 (2010)
Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) makes enemies every day and one of them is Ivan Vanko (Mickey Rouke). With what feels like an endless battle ahead, Iron Man must protect the people and prove that Iron Man is truly a good man.

 


Sex in the City (2008)
A New York writer finally gets married to Mr. Big, help her girlfriends get through life changing events all while Big leaves her at the altar. Many of the events take place over the New Year’s Holiday!

 


This Means War (2012)
Two CIA operatives who work together happen to meet the same girl. Reese Witherspoon plays Lauren whom FDR (Chris Pine) and Tuck (Tom Hardy) are both smitten with. Not to mention the men both sabotage each other’s dates making for action and comedy in the same flick! May the best man win!

 


The Shining (1980)
Jack Nicholson is BACK! In the 1980 film, the Shining, Jack Torrance (Nicholson) is living in a hotel for a friend and after a while, tends to go a little crazy. Meanwhile, his son, Danny starts seeing crazy things. In for a trip come New Year’s, then the Shining is a pick for you.

 


Back to the Future (1985)
Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is sent thirty years into the past to save his parents and his own existence. But he travels in a DeLorean invented by Dr. Emmett Brown (Christopher Lloyd).

 


300 (2006)
Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC and the alliance Greek city-states are fending off the Persian Army in the mountain pass. While the Persians have 100,000 soldiers, the Spartans only had 300. The three day battle ends in blood shed and all 300 Spartans, dead.

 


Warrior (2011)
Brenden and Tommy Conlon are in the ring for a chance to win the MMA title. With a broken family and no communication, an ex-marine, Tommy (Tom Hardy) whips himself into shape and tracks down his father, whom was his former coach. While Brenden is a school teacher and needs to make ends meet, returns to the ring. Which of the brothers wins?

 


The Godfather (1972)
“Don” Vito Corleone is the head of a New York Mafia and is overseeing his daughter’s wedding. Michael just returned from war and has no intentions of joining his father’s business. In the midst of it all, Vito lives life in the old country while trying to obtain new ways.

 


Boondock Saints (1999)
Fraternal Irish twins, Connor (Sean Patrick Flanery) and Murphy (Norman Reedus) MacManus are out to get rid of the evil-doers in Boston. Meanwhile, an FBI agent is on their tracks. When in the hunt for mafia members, the two point their guns and say a prayer. Talk about intense!
