Bloodstained: Ritual Of The Night Gets A New Release Window

In news that will surely disappoint some people, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, the spiritual successor to the beloved Castlevania series, has a new release window. Originally aiming for a 2017 release, the game is now targeting an early 2018 release.

The news comes from Koji Igarashi, the game’s creator, in a new update to Kickstarter backers and a new Youtube video from the game’s official channel, which you can check out below. “The last thing I want to do is keep our backers waiting”, he explains. “But after receiving such incredible support, I feel responsible for delivering the best product I possibly can. Again, I offer my sincerest apologies.” There is a silver lining when it comes to this delay though, as more people will be coming onto the project to help polish the game to make it the best that it can be. Remember, a delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is bad forever.

Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night is set for a tentative early 2018 release. The game will be released on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Linux, Wii U, and PlayStation Vita.
