‘The Walking Dead Escape’ Returning to SDCC 2014

The Walking Dead Escape will once again be bringing its terrifying obstacle course to San Diego Comic-Con. The course will be open on July 25 and July 26 at Petco Park for the undead excursion, in which participants are encouraged to put their fight or flight skills to the test, evade the walkers and get to the end of the course without being infected! Oh, it sounds so much fun!

Back in 2012, when the course debuted, it was a huge hit among attendees. The Walking Dead Escape gained a few more events, including a New York course aboard the aircraft carrier, the USS Intrepid. Fans have been so excited about the course, that those behind the event are working on a 2014 national tour. Robert Kirkman said, “I’m thrilled to offer fans new and old an even bigger, more interactive experience this time around. It’s great to see fans of the comic book and television series live in the world I created so many years ago.”

If you are attending San Diego Comic Con this year, stop in and take a chance or two, running through. Of course, you’re not just running. Partaking in the event requires endurance, agility, and stamina and to get to the end, you must run, jump, climb, slide and crawl your way through. Ding, ding, ding. You can participate as a survivor or as a walker. If you chose walker, a professional makeup artist will come in and be sure you look the part. You also go through Walker 101 before stepping onto the course!

Just know that if you decide to take part later on this month, you are not required to run, it isn’t timed and there is no race. Have fun and be safe!
