A Cosplay of Skyrim’s Karliah to Honor the Lady of Shadows

The trinity of the Nightingales serves the Lady Nocturnal, the Daedric princess whose sphere is the darkness and the night. They exist and work within the Thieves Guild in Riften’s Ratways to protect the many shrines of the Night Mistress in Skyrim.

Sylar and Sheila, or more commonly know as Aicosu within the cosplay world, are couple cosplayers from Phoenix, Arizona. Some of their recent work includes the Lutece Twins from Bioshock Infinite, Corvo Attano and Empress Jessamine Kaldwin from Dishonored, Tahno and Korra from Legend of Korra and more. Not to mention, Sheila’s cosplay of Karliah from Bethesda’s 2011 landmark game, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Karliah is a dunmer thief, and a member of the secret faction, the Nightingales, who spent 25 years of her life in exile after an alleged murder of a former Guildmaster and lover. According to The “Nightingales Vol. 2”, Karliah is a direct descendant of Queen Barenziah and Nightingale thief, Drayven Indoril. The blood of “Lady Luck” flows deep in her veins.

The Nightingale armour in Skyrim is one of the most popular armour sets in the game (with a cape and all those added perks, why wouldn’t it be?). Sheila crafted the entirety of this armour from craft foam sheets with hot glue for detailing and then painted it to resemble the leathery texture of the Nightingale armour.

It goes without saying that Aicosu are master cosplayers and Sheila’s Karliah cosplay displays excellent craftsmanship and is fantastically constructed. Not to mention the bow, and the makeup and the rest of the costume. Everything is pieced together so well. But that armour though…it’s like nothing we’ve ever seen; forged by midnight.
