Destiny: The Taken King Adds Class Specific Weapons

The Taken King, the newest expansion pack for the online first person shooter Destiny, will get be adding class specific weapons, which have been noticeably absent in Destiny. But it won’t be easy to obtain these weapons, according to Bungie.

In a video interview with IGN as part of their gamescom coverage, Destiny Community Manager David “DeeJ” Dague revealed that the class exclusive weapons aren’t obtainable through random drops or pick-ups, but rather they must be worked for, similar to how exotic weapons are earned now. However, some of the low level common class exclusive weapons will also be available from in-game vendors. In addition, factions are also being integrated into this new system, as joining a specific faction will net players exclusive rewards, though as of now it’s unknown which weapons and items will be rewarded to which factions. Destiny: The Taken King is set to release on September 15th for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and  Xbox 360.
