E3 2016: The Elder Scrolls VI Is In Development, But It Won’t Be Out For Awhile

Although there was no official confirmation that Elder Scrolls VI is being developed during Bethesda’s E3 2016 presentation not all is doom and gloom. According to Todd Howard, the head of Bethesda Game Studios, a new installment in the Elder Scrolls series is indeed in the works. However, the downside to this revelation is the game’s official release date is “very long way off.”

“[Elder Scrolls 6 is] kind of like the elephant in the room, always, when we talk about anything, and you know, I think it’s good in these moments to tell our fans yes, of course we are [working on it] – it’s something we love – but it is… you know, I have to be careful what I say, it’s a very long way off.” Howard explains during YouTube’s Live At E3 livestream.

During E3 2016, the company announced that three unannounced titles are currently in development; whether one of those games is Elder Scrolls VI remains to be seen. Although Howard reassured everyone that all three games’ release dates are not coming anytime soon, he did reveal that fans will likely hear about the titles in the near future.
